The first time I tried using the Instant Pot for my hard-boiled eggs, they turned out perfect. I used the 5-5-5 method, which simply is the method of letting the Instant Pot come under pressure for 5 minutes, cooking at pressure for 5 minutes, and then naturally releasing the pressure for 5 minutes.
I was super impressed and even shared it on Instagram because I was so excited about the results! However, then the problems started! I didn't realize it right away but I was alternating between cold eggs from the refrigerator and farm-fresh eggs at room temperature with the bloom still intact.
Whether you have success with your Instant Pot hard-boiled eggs depends on being consistent with the temperature of the eggs and setting your Instant Pot to the correct pressure time. These two things will allow you to have the PERFECT peel hard-boiled eggs every time without fail.

Instructions
The instructions for our room temperature versus refrigerated eggs are basically the same except for one essential difference which is the pressure cook time. For room-temperature eggs, you will pressure cook them for 5 minutes. For refrigerated eggs, you will pressure cook them for 6 minutes.
Place one cup of cold water on the bottom of your Instant Pot.
Place eggs on a rack.
Seal the Pressure Cooker. Set for 5 or 6 minutes depending on if you are cooking at room temperature or refrigerated eggs.
After cook time has ended, let the pressure release naturally for 5 minutes.
Carefully, remove eggs from the pressure cooker and place them in an ice bath.
After the eggs have cooled off in the ice bath, peel and enjoy these PERFECT hard-boiled eggs!

Hint: Eggs will peel best (like butter) if they are cooked from room temperature!

Storage
It is best to peel the eggs before storing them in the refrigerator. You can also place a paper towel on the bottom of your air-tight container to absorb any extra moisture.
Eggs start fresh in the refrigerator for up to three days.
Top tip
Although you can totally peel these eggs easily from a refrigerated temperature, they will peel even better if you cook from at room temperature!
FAQ
How long are hard-boiled eggs good for?
The sad truth is that they don't last as long as I wish they did.
Hard-boiled eggs will stay fresh for 3 days in the refrigerator when peeled. Up to 7 days when they are unpeeled.
Hard-boiled eggs do not freeze well! However, you can freeze them for up to 3 months by placing them
Is it better to use old eggs or fresh eggs?
That is a question! I don't have a solid answer for you, but I do find that fresh eggs peel the best for me personally!
How many eggs will fit in my Instant Pot
You can cook as many as 1 eggs in your Instant Pot using this method and up to 16.
Can I use duck eggs and get the same results?
Unfortunately, my experience with duck eggs is no. I cook my duck eggs with my chicken eggs, but due to the exceptionally thick eggshell, they do not turn out perfectly each time. I recommend that if you do duck eggs you allow them to come to room temperature before placing them in the Instant Pot.
