Easy Tomato Soup Recipe
One of the reasons I love this low-carb tomato soup recipe is that it is so easy to make. Not only easy but also healthy! The ingredients are wholesome and delicious. There will not be one picky eater with this! Well, I guess I can't guarantee that, but I wish I could!
This is a recipe where you will just crack the cans, pour the ingredients into a nice large saucepan, and let it simmer away. What is easier than that?!
What is the Difference Between Creamy Tomato Soup and Tomato Bisque?
The simplest answer to this is that a creamy tomato soup is just that, creamy! It is typically dairy based with some sort of cream cheese or milk to make it a lighter color with a smoother texture. Tomato bisque is extraordinarily rich and highly flavored. Bisque is a term from France and usually indicates that it is a creamy soup as well.
There is very little difference between a creamy tomato soup and a tomato bisque. You could consider this recipe either one of them!
What Goes Well in Tomato Soup?
Tomato soup is very versatile and many savory flavors can pair wonderfully with the sweet tomato flavor. This creamy tomato soup recipe uses a full tablespoon of dried basil. The basil adds a very tasty overtone to the taste pallet.
Goat cheese is not a very common pairing with tomato, but it brings a very earthy flavor that I'm completely obsessed with.
Here are some other ideas you could add to your creamy tomato soup to give it some originality.
- Sage
- Cream Cheese
- Toasted nuts
- Protein such as fish or beef
Is Tomato Soup Keto and THM Friendly?
Absolutely, this creamy tomato soup recipe is going to be a S recipe for my Trim Healthy Mama friends and is completely keto-friendly for those that are on that path.
Add a Wasa cracker to it, if you like to have crackers with your soup, but make sure it is a FP (fuel pull) cracker and keep it to one or two to stay in S territory.

How to Store Low Carb Soup
This can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. However, if you would like to save a portion of it for later, freezer bags come in real handy here! Put portions into the freezer bags and store for up to a year in your freezer.
Can't get much easier than that!
What Ingredients are in this Creamy Tomato Soup Recipe?
These are all very simple ingredients that you can pick up at your local grocery store! In fact, you may have them all in your cupboards already.
Nutritional yeast is more readily available in stores now, but if you are looking for the best out there, I highly recommend Trim Healthy Mama's nutritional yeast. Don't let the term 'yeast' confuse you. The THM website explains it best,
But flavor is not the only reason you will love this stuff. This is the good for you yeast! Don’t let the word “yeast” confuse you. Nutritional Yeast is not remotely like the yeast you think of that wreaks havoc on your body.
